It’s been a while but I felt the urge to mix some tunes that I found recently. It’s a bit of a departure from the straightforward psytrance that I’m perhaps known for, taking in a deeper more minimal trance/techno vibe. It’s still definitely psychedelic though – can I do it any other way?

None of these tunes are especially new, most were regulars in my radio shows back when I could be arsed to do them although it’s unlikely that I ever played them all together in this order, which is the true art of the DJ is it not?

Flava = more techno than regular Do’eads might expect (or really regular Do-do’eads might wonder why it took me so long to make a mix like this) – in fact I was tempted to internet secret gig it and put it out under the name DJ Boris Shiva, then I realised that I was disappearing up my own arse and was in danger of quitting my job in order to sell tea in a field from a manky kettle in order to educate about the current bandwagon-cause-du-jour.

The more experiemental techno set appeared on psystream.net for a bit under the following title:

“Admiral Flufftin’s Rainbow Filled Pie – I’ll never forget the day I met the Admiral. He took me out on his boat and fed me a rainbow filled pie that enabled me to see the mermaids. One of them took a shine to me and asked me to lick her nipples. They were the texture of barnacles and tasted strongly of salt.”

I mixed this set in 2005 when I was playing a lot of Forza on the X-Box and needed something to help my laptimes, hence the name.

I’ve made this the next one available as I’ve spotted some activity in the search logs looking for this particular set.
