I accidentally found myself at the wikipedia page for psychedelic trance today. Considering how many people in the ’scene’ that I come across seem to be Media Studies students writing dissertations about rave culture you’d think one of them might want to do a better job than this horrendous pile of shit.
Psytrance fans = Fail. And what’s worse is you lose of Pro Wrestling fans and people who think that lightsabres are real in the “represent our scene with an interesting, informative and accurate wikipedia article”.
Will someone please go and fix it before I’m forced to wikivandalise it with my theory of the Shiva Honeymoon Curve.
It’s no secret that the psytrance scene is populated almost exclusively by ex-metal heads and we are all familiar with the guitar (psytar for the DI brigade) tracks littering the scene. Even the best examples are pretty much bollocks, and talented players such as ex-Megadeth axeman Marty Friedman can’t even turn in a decent psytrance guitar performance instead resorting to the type of retarded power chords that we thought were cool when we were in our first band at 14 and had been learning our instruments for about a week. Remember this is a world where Asher Swissa can become a guitar god so there is no hope.
Apart maybe from this chap on youtube who thought he’d have a bash at Posford’s LSD on a Jackson. Does a pretty good job.
